Trenčianska Závada - Lookout tower Malá Jelenec

It is very easy to get to Trenčianska Závada. By car it is 4 km away, which takes about 7 minutes. About halfway through the village, there is a left turn at the grocery store to Gazdovstvo Uhliská where you can park conveniently.

TIP: Walk from Ranch 13.The shortcut to Trencian Zavada is through our pastures. The road is a little steeper but the views are worth it. Behind our shed, by the horse roundabout on the left is a dirt road up over the hill. You will come to the top and you will have a view of Trenčianka Závada. At the top of the pasture you turn left along a stony path. You then head left again into the village and at the grocery you turn towards Uhliska Farm.

The lookout tower in the part of Trenčianska Závada welcomes you as soon as you get out of the car. Looking up the hill, you won't miss it. A short road leads to it from the farmhouse. Follow the signs and in about 20 minutes you are up the hill.

The easy walk is suitable for families with children and you can safely take a sports buggy. Above the farm you will pass a paddock of horses, continue past grazing cows and about halfway up the hill you will come across a gazebo where you can sit for a while and enjoy the surrounding countryside.

After the gazebo, follow the arrow through the woods to the lookout tower at Malá Jelenec.

The Trenčianská Závada observation tower is located at an altitude of 459m and is built mainly of wood. The height of this unique wooden lookout tower is 24.6 meters and provides a magnificent view of the surroundings.You can see the White Carpathians, the Strážov Hills, Považský Inovec, the Vršatecké bradlá and, in good weather, the Martinské hole. Of course, you can also admire the towns in the vicinity such as - Dubnica nad Váhom, Ilava, Nová Dubnica and Nemšová.
