Antonstál Hunting Lodge

The Antostál hunting manor serves today as a purpose-built facility for forest education and recreation. Antonstal is located in the peaceful surroundings of the White Carpathian Mountains in close proximity to the border with the Czech Republic. From the ranch you can get there by following the dirt road to the left and continue on. The road is beautiful, the avenues of trees will take you there and on the way you can refresh yourself with water from the well. When you see it on your left you are almost there! It's called "By the Goats". If you'd like to make your way through the woods, be sure to take advantage of it. Our woods around the ranch have many beautiful forest trails.

HISTORY:

The original name of the establishment is Antonstal Hunting Lodge. The history of the castle is connected with the Brumov manor, which was situated in the territory of Moravia and Povazia since the 13th century. It changed several owners. Under the Illešházy family, the first organised forestry was introduced here.

The stage of modern forestry began in 1835, when the estate was owned by Juraj Simon Sina. His granddaughter later sold the estate to one of the richest men in Austria-Hungary, the brewer Anton Dreher. Anton Dreher was fond of hunting and breeding wild boar and deer. He built several game farms. Between 1937 and 1943, his daughter-in-law Edeltruda Kulmerová Dreher had the Antonstál hunting lodge built according to the design of the architect Augustín Danielis in the Lluborčín game farm.

In the 1950s, the chateau was confiscated by the Czechoslovak state and an apprenticeship school for woodcutters was established there. Currently it is under the administration of the state enterprise Forests of the Slovak Republic, Branch Plant Považie. It was completely rebuilt in 1997-2000. In 2014, the heating system was renovated, the capacity of the facility was increased and the future of the facility was determined for the purposes of forest pedagogy and recreation.
